Digital Voice Recorders

Digital Voice Recorders (DVR) have become a tool of many physicians/doctors and also journalists. Many business professionals also use DVRs for thought capture during travel. Medical professionals and journalists record voice at an average of 7 hours of talk time per day. One hour of uncompressed wave file occupies approximately 56-57 MB of memory space. With MASC a 1 hour file takes only about 2.8 MB. That is a lot of voice crushed into digital memory. Most DVRs have an on-board memory of about 64MB by default. Using wave, an hour of recording would totally consume the entire ob-board memory capacity of the DVR. MASC on the other hand can provide about 20 hours of recording on a 64MB memory card along with pristine voice quality.
